A responsible owner of a cat will

Provide:
......access to indoor shelter;
......daily food (including daily supply by alternative care person when out of town);
......water ;
......vaccinations and veterinary care;
.............all animals allowed outside will be neutered;
.............flea control on the animal will be practised;
......some sort of safe identification to be worn; this will facilitate care for the animal if found injured or dead; in the event of a fight, it will facilitate the check of current rabies vaccination in animals living in neighborhoods with skunk or bat populations.

A responsible owner of a cat will not

......leave a cat without access to indoor shelter or daily food and water source when out of town;
..... leave surplus food where it can encourage feral populations of cats, possums, rats or skunks;
..... will report a dog that injures a cat.
